Hello everyone! My name is Paige Brummett, and I am a 22 year old Raw Food Chef from Chicago that decided to go to Michigan and be an intern at the Creative Health Institute for 3 months. In this blog I will blog about my experience as an intern in Union City, MI, aka Hodunk. Yes, for real, that is what they call it here. J The Creative Health Institute is a Living Foods Institute started by Dr. Ann Wigmore. They call themselves “The Wheatgrass People”, and indeed they are. They have a wheatgrass building with more wheatgrass then I have ever seen in my life.

Part of the daily routine here is taking shots of wheatgrass three times a day, and a wheatgrass implant after an enema. So intense! They also sprout ALOT; they have sprouts with every meal, along with Dr. Ann Wigmore’s famous energy soup (which is full of sprouts). They also eat a 100% Raw, Organic, and Vegan diet. They have a detox program that I believe has saved many lives, and they also have Raw Chef programs. As an intern, we take the classes and get a certification as a Gourmet Raw Food Chef and a Holistic Health Counselor. I had to sign a contract saying that I would eat a 100% raw food diet for the 3 months that I am here.

I have been consciously eating a raw food diet for about 2 years, but never 100%, and NEVER this much wheatgrass!! I worked as a raw food chef at a couple raw food restaurants in Chicago, but I am still learning so much here and taking it to the next level. I have been here at CHI for about 2 weeks and have been experiencing mild detox symptoms (headaches mostly). Besides that, I feel great and I’m loving it here! The interns are awesome, and I am forming new friendships with them. I love the environment, the air is clean and I can see the stars at night! It is very chilly, but they have an outdoor wood sauna, that I have been taking advantage of. It’s amazing, I have been dry skin brushing then putting essential oils on the coals and the oils sink into my skin, so rejuvenating.

My intentions for being here are the following: To learn as much as I can on true holistic health (physically, emotionally, and spiritually), to see how a Wellness Center is run because I plan on opening several raw wellness centers, and to see how it is to live in a community (all the interns live together), I want to start a living foods, holistic health, sustainable community. So, here I am 2 weeks in, 10 weeks to go!! Please follow me along in this exciting journey!

This is AWESOME!!! I want to go to Creative Health Institute!! I wish we had one here. I am going on my second year as a vegatarian and not very good at it. I eat fish (love salmon and tuna) but I am on a 39 day fast of no meats, bread and junkfood. I want to stay off that but would love to learn to cook raw and vegan. Great article and inspiring!!
