My favorite thing to do right after I work out is crack open a fresh young coconut, and sip the delicious tropical water right from the shell. "It's a natural isotonic beverage, with the same level of electrolytic balance as we have in our blood. It's the fluid of life, so to speak." The molecules are almost identical to human’s blood plasma. In fact, during the Pacific War of 1941-45, both sides in the conflict regularly used coconut water to give emergency plasma trasfusions to wounded soldiers. Here are reasons why coconut is better than any drink. Coconut water is more nutritious than whole milk, because it has less fat and no cholesterol. Not to mention all the hormones you’re getting from milk, and the whole pasteurization process. Coconut water doesn’t have high acid contect therefore throws off your Ph balance, and has lower sugar therefore lower calorie content. It contains lauric acid, which is present in human mother's milk "Coconut water is the very stuff of Nature, biologically Pure, full of Natural Sugars, Salts, and Vitamins to ward off fatigue... and is the next wave of energy drinks but natural!", according to Mortin Satin, Chief of the United Nation's Food & Agriculture Organization.

Reasons why Coconut water is a million times better than sports drinks

Coconut water contains more potassium (at about 294 mg) than most sports drinks (117 tesmg) and most energy drinks. Getting a lot of potassium after and before a workout is essential. Low potassium can cause muscle cramping and cardiovascular irregularities. One possible explanation for potassium's protective effect against hypertension is that increased potassium may increase the amount of sodium excreted from the body. The kidneys regulate the level of potassium in the body. potassium deficiency is not common but may result from excessive losses due to severe diarrhea, poor diabetic control, low-calorie diets (less than 800 calories per day), chronic alcoholism, hard exercise, or some diuretics and laxatives. potassium works with sodium to maintain the body's water balance. Coconut water has less sodium (25mg) where sports drinks have around 41mg and energy drinks have about 200 mg, but just as many if not more electrolytes. Electrolytes are important because they are what your cells use to maintain voltages across their cell membranes and to carry electrical impulses (nerve impulses, muscle contractions) across themselves and to other cells. Your kidneys work to keep the electrolyte concentrations in your blood constant despite changes in your body. For example, when you exercise heavily, you lose electrolytes in your sweat, particularly sodium and potassium. These electrolytes must be replaced to keep the electrolyte concentrations of your body fluids constant. The electrolytes in Coconut water balance out the salt which helps your kidneys regulate water content. This will decrease any risk of cardiovascular problems, and improve your workout performance giving you the most vital energy necessary to reach your fullest potential!

Amazing! really gives me the urge to have a big glass of it!
Problem is: I just don't know where to get young coconut, I am living in Quebec and I've never seen any in our vegetable stores here!

Can someone tell me where to find them?
