Malinsky Interview by Philip Madeley
1)
What inspired you to eat and live this way?
I first got inspired by reading “Diet & Salad” by Norman Walker,
but what really sparked my mind was when I read “Fit for Life”
by Harvey Diamond. After reading those books I quickly changed my eating habit
and never looked back.
2) What is the motivation, the driving force behind the way you live?
My motivation is people! I love helping others! Whether it's coaching, making raw foods or selling a juicer to them, I feel like I'm on top of the world! In addition, I want to learn more about this lifestyle; not just the food aspect, but also the spiritual and emotional side. This keep me going further!
3) Why are you doing what you are doing?
Because it's my life! I have worked in other places where I hated the boss, and/or the environment. So, I started to think of my lifestyle and see what I can do to be happy and still make money to support myself. I started doing food demos, coaching people, developing rawguru.com, rawfoodchat.com, selling raw food equipment and food, making raw meals for people and being a apart of this everyday growing lifestyle.
4) Are you having the best day ever, why?
I am having the best day ever! Everyday! Each day I am busy, working on my next big project and eating the best food ever. Life is good!
5) What is the most amazing food experience ever. The best food ever... What did it feel like, where was it?
Great question. There are so many! The first thing that came to mind was when we (Philip Madley, Joe Custer, Preston) went to the lake in Portland and devoured really ripe black berries! That was amazing! Another amazing food experience was when I was in Maui with David Wolfe and others on a nude beach eating a local ripe jackfruit! Right on the sand! YUM!
6) Describe your best raw food life experience ever?
The best experience was when I was at the Tree of Life! There is so much love and balance there that everyday was the best day...ever! The people are so kind and generous, the food prepared with love and elegance and the weather is phenomenal! Everyone should visit there at least once to experience heaven on earth!
7) What world changing project are you working on right now?
A few. The first thing on the list is my tooth care products! Then the biggest and greatest raw recipe book ever! Currently I am developing my online shop www.rawfoodequipment.com (bookmark this site! Not online yet) and working with a few local raw food chefs to make a raw holiday recipe DVD. If you are in the Florida area, you should definitely come! Check out the poster! http://www.rawguru.com/poster/holidayposter.jpg
8) Who is the raw guru? Does the guru really exist is is it just a figgy-ment of our imagination?
A raw guru is anyone who wants or has a vast amount of knowledge about the raw foods lifestyle. We are born with the raw guru already in us. Something big just has to awake it and let it grow!
9) Share one of the best recipes ever for a salad and a smoothie?
The best salad ever!
1/2 bunch of dino kale
(shredded)
1/4 bunch of dandelion (shredded)
1 cup nappa cabbage (shredded)
1 avocado (cubed)
1/2 a lime, juice only (must be a lime)
1-2 tbs. thinly sliced red onion
1 cucumber (peeled and sliced)
1 tsp. salt or to taste
5 slices of dried mango (cut into thin strips)
2 tbs. of peeled cacao nibs (not ground)
3-4 tbs. fresh dill
Mix everything in a huge bowl and massage it for 5 -8 mins. before eating! Try to make it with all the ingredients above, then play around with it!
The best smoothie ever!
2-3 tbs. peeled rawguru
cacao (ground fine)
1 cup coconut meat
1 cup coconut water
½ cup thawed durian
½ cup almond milk
2 tbs. soaked goji berries
1 tsp. maca powder
½ tsp. purple corn extract
1 tbs. mesquite pod meal
2-4 tbs, agave nectar or 5-6 tbs. soaked raisins
¼ tsp. cinnamon
1-2 pinches of cayenne pepper
2 pinches of sea salt or to taste
10 tbs. Love
5 tbs. Laughter
2-3 tbs. Bliss
Dash of Passion
Blend everything in a high speed blender. Taste, add more salt or love if needed and sip away the whole day! Or Freeze this mixture and make it into a creamy ice cream!
9) Closing words
Here are a few tips I picked up while on my raw journey!
Find your niche in the raw food movement and go for it!
Read! Reading is essential! Saturate yourself with raw books and the Internet! Knowledge is power!
Set goals! Write them down and set a reasonable date when you will achieve them.
Love yourself! If you don't, who will?
Laugh at everything! Laughter is the highest vibration on the planet!
Everyday is the best day ever...be apart of it! Go raw!
Take air!
