- Junk Food Giggles
The tongue has 9000 taste buds. Each bud is a tiny receptor cell that
sends messages to the brain in order to analyze and identify food. Scientists
have now decoded these messages. When a volunteer was monitored eating a bag
of Ruffle’s Potato Chips, the message sent to the brain by the receptor
cells was translated HELP!
-Random Joke of the Month:
So, this guy walks into his doctor's office. He's got a carrot in one nostril,
an asparagus stalk in the other, a zucchini in one ear, a green onion in the
other ear and a banana sticking out of his bottom. He says, "Doc, I'm not
feeling too good these days!" The doctor looks up at him from his chair
and replies, "Looks like you're not eating right!".

-Fruit of the month: The Pomegranate
The pomegranate is one of the earliest cultivated fruits. Historical evidence
suggests that man first began planting pomegranate trees sometime between 4000
B.C.E and 3000 B.C.E. Although Pomegranates grew in the wild before the dawn
of agriculture, they were one of the first five domesticated crops along with
olives, grapes, figs and dates. Believed to be first domesticated somewhere
in northern Iran or Turkey, pomegranates still occur in the wild. However, the
first archeological evidence of domesticated pomegranates isn’t until
around 3000 B.C. at Jericho. Soon after their appearance at Jericho, they turned
up in Mesopotamia and Egypt.

3. Gourmet & Simple Recipes by Alex Malinsky
"Hot" Chocolate
4 cups almond milk*
1 sun cured vanilla bean (seeds only)
4-6 ounces raw peeled cacao bean pieces
3/4 cup agave nectar or yacon syrup or soaked dates
1 tsp. maca powder (optional)
1/4 tsp. cayenne powder
Add the nut milk, vanilla bean seeds, maca, raw cacao bean pieces, and a sweeter
of your choice into a blender cup. Blend on high speed till creamy and smooth.
Strain this mixture through a strainer or nut milk bag and add back into the
blender. From here you can blend it up till warm or drink as is. Before serving,
add some hot pepper to it for a warm sensation. Serve immediately.
*Almond milk is made by soaking 2 cups of almonds and adding them to 3 1/2
cups pure water with 2 pinches of salt and blending till smooth, then straining
the mixture through a nut milk bag. Almond milk keeps for 1-3 days in the refrigerator.
Pomegranate Power Punch
8 medium pomegranates (3/4
pound each)
2 cups water
3/4 agave nectar or healing
honey
1 bunch fresh mint, trimmed and rinsed
1 cup ice cubes
1/4 cup lemon juice
Cut pomegranates in half
crosswise, and extract juice from seeds with a citrus juicer or reamer. Strain
juice through a fine-mesh sieve into a large bowl, discarding pulp. You should
have about 4 cups of juice. Combine the juice with the water and agave or honey
and blend till smooth. Add the mint to the mixture and let it marinate in the
fridge for 1-2 hrs. When serving strain the mint out, mix with lemon juice and
pour in chilled glasses with ice cubes. Serve immediately.
Chewy Cacao Gingerbread
Cookies
2 cups golden flax seeds (ground
fine)
1 cup almonds (ground fine)
1 cup soaked figs or raisins (blended till smooth)
1/4 cup healing
honey
1 cup pure water or more if needed
1 apple (chopped)
3-4 oz. raw cacao bean pieces (ground fine)
2 tbs. mesquite pod meal
1 1/4 tsp. ground ginger
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 tbs. freshly grated ginger
2 pinches fine sea salt
Process everything in a food
processor till smooth. Add more ground golden flax seeds to thicken up the dough.
Taste the dough and adjust any seasonings if needed. Knead the dough till nice
and pliable. Cut it in half and wrap each half in parchment paper. Let the cookie
doughs refrigerate for 1-2 hrs or until well chilled. Once chilled, using a
rolling pin, roll each dough into a flat rectangle or square. You can make it
as thick as you want. The thicker the dough, the longer it will dry out and
the chewier it will be. For a crispy cookie roll the dough out as thin as possible.
You can cut the cookies into rounds, squares or even use a gingerbread cookie
cutter. Place your cookies on dehydrator trays that are lined with teflex sheets
and dehydrate the cookies at 145 degrees F for 1-2 hrs and then bring down the
temp. to 110 degrees F. for about 10-12 hrs. or until the desired consistency.
(It is recommended to dehydrate at 145 degrees F. in the Excalibur
dehydrators only, the temp. of the food never reaches 145 degrees, so don't
worry about the enzymes, etc...)

SUPERrawFOODS
by Alex Malinsky
Why eat super foods? Do organic fruits and veggies have enough nutrients? Is
there something better?
Everyone wants to be super healthy. Don't just be healthy, be super healthy!
Why should you settle for less? Eating mineral dense foods is the way to go!
Wild food is the way to go but sometimes we don't have a choice and need to
rely on super foods. To me a super food would be fresh ripe wild food. Second
to that would be organically grown just picked garden fresh raw food, 3rd to
that would be low temperature or sun dried wild foods. There are hundreds of
supplements out there. Dried barley powder, dried wheatgrass powder, dried fruit
powder, etc. The ONLY company that I prefer to buy all my powdered super foods
is the Pure Synergy Co. Mitchell May is the founder of the company and has dedicated
himself in bringing the best raw whole food supplements on the market. The difference
between his super foods and other brands is that his powders are juice extracts
of whole organic fruits and vegetables, plus there are no cheap fillers and
most important – it's RAW!
Other great super foods are maca, goji berries, elderberries, hemp seeds, blue
green algae, brazil nuts, and whole wild dried fruits/nuts. I prefer to soak
all dried fruits and nuts before consuming them because it's not only easier
on your teeth and digestion but you are also washing them. There is a lot of
sand and dust when a nut or fruit is dried out in the sun. See for yourself.
Soak some raisins or apricots and look at the bottom of the bowl.
Ok, so now we pretty much know what super foods are but what's the best way
to enjoy them and get the full benefit? Blended the up!! I try to eat one or
two blended salads a day. I always try to vary them but the basic one I like
is kale, green apple, parsley, cilantro, ginger, cucumber and celery. Blend
this mixture up till smooth then add 2-3 heaping tablespoons of Pure
Synergy, 5-7 capsules of Pure
Radiance C, a handful of soaked goji berries, 4 fronds of dulse or some
blue green algae, maca powder, mesquite and continue to blend till smooth again.
Pour into a large bowl and add some chopped veggies or soaked nuts or seeds
on top. The reason I add chopped veggies on top is because most people don't
chew their blended salads, they just gobble it down and in 15-20 minutes feel
bloated. To prevent this add some crunch to your blended salads and don't forget
to chew, chew, chew, chew!
To kick up your favorite desserts add a few capsules of Pure
Radiance C when a recipe calls for lemon juice. You will notice a huge taste
difference. Pure
Radiance C livens up your foods and brings out the flavors dramatically!
So to conclude, don't just eat organic, eat better! Eat wild foods and super
foods! You're body and you are worth it!
Raw Food Diet Explodes
Across Australia With Startling Health and Weight Loss Results
Source: Onlypunjab.com
After a barrage of short term diets aimed more at boosting revenues than improving health, the raw food diet - or living foods as its often known - is a nutritional breath of fresh air. At last, pills, potions and protein powders have been dropped in favour of foods that doctors, nutritionists and common sense have been clamoring to be increased for years: fresh, unprocessed, fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds. Living foods has taken this age old advice for improved health and taken it to the next level; famous chefs like Charlie Trotter, Roxanne Klein and Cherie Soria create sumptuous, varied feasts entirely from these ingredients – no cooking required. Ordinary people all over Australia and the world have discovered the flavours and ease of living foods, often reporting a wide range of dramatic health benefits such as weight loss, disease remissions, increased immunity and improved complexions.
Sheryl and Piers Duruz, co-founders of Australia’s leading raw food education web site www.Raw-Pleasure.com dropped 32 kg (that’s 70 pounds) and halved body fat from 21% to 9.6% respectively by changing their way of eating.
“The weight loss was a wonderful surprise,” Piers relates “but feeling alive, energetic and alert enough to see the world as a wonderful place instead of tired and negative is worth more than I ever could have imagined before. It’s a truly hidden gift of life. www.Raw-Pleasure.com is our gift back to say thank you and help make it easy for others.”
Subscribers to www.Raw-Pleasure.com’s free Taste Tester recipe testing program regularly receive recipes such as curries, cakes, biscuits, sandwiches, cookies, snacks and more and are quickly developing a country-wide support network on their forums with a uniquely Australian flavour.
Many doctors, such as Dr Doug Graham, are giving living foods the thumbs up. Dr Graham has trained many sports legends such as tennis Player Martina Navratilova, NBA pro basketball player Ronnie Grandison, track Olympic sprinter Doug Dickinson, as well as the United States Olympic Diving team and the Norwegian National Bicycling team. Dr Graham states that “people thrive on the raw diet, often telling others how it has improved their health and their lives. Fruits, vegetables, and leafy greens not only contain sustainable amounts of carbohydrates, protein and fat, they have them in the percentages, ratios, and quality that are optimum for human health. When people integrate a proper raw diet with other healthful living practices, they rarely, if ever, develop weight control problems, chronic or even short-term illnesses.”
Even conservative groups such as the US governments National Cancer Institute concur with living foods, such as fruit and vegetables, anti cancer properties stating “Fruit and vegetable consumption have generally been found in epidemiologic studies to be associated with reduced risk for a number of different cancers”.
“All I know is that it’s the most delicious, time proven way of eating out there… and we feel great!” says Piers. Maybe we would all benefit from taking another bite at nature’s original fare.
The BioPhotonic Scanner (A scanner that measures a persons antioxidant
levels)
by Bryon Nevius
I think you will find the following information to be very beneficial to your health. Earlier this year a Doctor (customer) told me about a scanner that uses laser technology to read the level of antioxidants in your body. This was invented by the University of Utah. It works by placing your hand in front of a low-energy blue light laser. I found this to be quite interesting so I ask for more information. The doctor offered to send me his scanner to try out. After receiving it I tested myself, a few employees and I took it to a CPR class. After using it I felt it was pretty accurate because I scored the highest (37,000) of everyone and the person who scored the lowest (14,000) was a heavy smoker with heart disease. The national average is around 19,000 which is not a good score. 100,000 is about the best you can get, but very few people ever come close to that number. A lot of people would be happy with the 37,000 I scored but I was not at all happy and I will tell you why.
For the last 8 years I have been on a high quality juice diet (consuming juice daily) along with a diet very rich in fresh, raw, organic fruits and veggies, along with organic whole grains. I also have done a lot of powered Barley Green in the juices. I really felt that my antioxidant score should have been much better than 37,000. I decided I wanted to just see if taking LifePac would rise my score considerably. For six months I took LifePac on a daily basis. I want to point out that there were many days I only took 1 pack instead of the recommend 2 packs a day. I did take a recommend Marine Omega (Krill oil) along with the LifePac, I was told it would help me absorb the LifePac ingredients better.
After 6 months I certainly noticed a change in my health. What I noticed was I just do not have days any more where I have weak (lack of energy) feelings. When I went to get rescanned I found that my score had gone from 37,000 to 58,000 in six months, that is a 64% improvement. I totally believe my health has improved noticeably in the last several months due to LifePac. Please read the rest of this story as I think you will find it very informative.

How
Clean is the Water You Drink?
Have you every taken a close look at your water? WAVY News 10 did by taking it to the lab.
Recent EPA records show that
all Hampton Roads tap water should test as clear as bottled water. But the lab
results show that wasn't always the case - and even bottled water can have it's
problems. WAVY News 10, along with the help of Jennings Laboratories, Inc.,
in Virginia Beach, put local sources of water to the test.1
0 On Your Side looked at water samples from sources including the tap, bottles,
and dispensers used in homes and offices. The test utilized by the lab simply
counted the number of live organisms in each sample."In municipal, chlorinated
drinking water," says Lynda Senior of Jennings Laboratories, "they
(the live organisms) should not be present at all."
All municipal water systems in Hampton Roads meet Environmental Protection Agency
standards. But what WAVY News 10 found in some homes was surprising. First,
the best results. Bacteria was not detected in either of the bottled waters
we tested. The water from the water fountain at the Pretlow Public Library in
Norfolk also came back without bacteria - a surprise for Senior who says water
fountains are usually full of bacteria.

The
Christmas Diet?
(too funny)
As we all know, it takes 1 calorie to heat 1 gram of water 1 degree centigrade.
Translated into meaningful
terms, this means that if you eat a very cold dessert this Christmas (generally
consisting of
water in large part), the natural processes which raise the consumed dessert
to body temperature during the digestive
cycle literally sucks the calories out of the only available source: your body
fat.
For example, a dessert served
and eaten at near 0 degrees C (32.2 deg. F) will in a short time be raised to
the normal
body temperature of 37 degrees C (98.6 deg. F). For each gram of dessert eaten,
that process takes approximately 37
calories as stated above. The average dessert portion is 6 oz, or 168 grams.
Therefore, by operation of thermodynamic
law, 6,216 calories (1 cal/gm/deg. x 37 deg. x 168 gms) are extracted from body
fat as the dessert's temperature is
normalized. Allowing for the 1,200 latent calories in the dessert, the net calorie
loss is approximately 5,000 calories.
Obviously, the more cold
dessert you eat on Christmas Day, the better off you are and the faster you
will lose weight,
if that is your goal.
