» Soaked, Dehydrated Organic Raw Nut Butters - Also called " Better-than-Roasted" nut butters, because the process involves first soaking, rinsing and then drying the nuts or seeds. Soaking the nuts or seeds has two purposes. First, soaking removes naturally-occurring phytates from the hulls of the nuts and seeds. Phytates have been shown to inhibit the digestion of nuts and seeds, as well as the absorption of some vitamins and minerals. Second, soaking initiates the sprouting process in nuts and seeds, which sweetens their taste. Our BTR nuts and seeds are dried at low, steady temperatures, to protect temperature-sensitive enzymes and nutrients, maximizing the nutritional value of the nuts and seeds. Available BTR nut butters: Cashew-Pistachio-Brazil Butter, Pecan Butter, Pine Nut Butter, Almond/Walnut Butter, and more.

Jeffrey WilliamsCan the BioMat cure or reverse cancer cells?

What has been shown is that cancer cells do not survive 40 degrees celcius of far infrared light (Harvard Medical School). The BioMat uses a unique combination of far infrared light with negative ions and amethyst crystals to create a more effective usage of far infrared light, which is amazing on its own.

Raw Food Articles of the Month!

Onan The Vegetarian - The story of a raw-food guru turned “subway perv.”
As soon as the subway doors opened, Thao Nguyen could sense she was in trouble. A short blond man boarded the train and locked his eyes on her. She felt a jolt of panic as the uptown R accelerated into a tunnel and the man sat down across from her and started rubbing his crotch. Nguyen, 22, was wearing a blouse and long pants, having just come from a job interview in Soho. He unzipped his fly and grinned.

Resorts Are Refining the Raw Food Scene
BRING up the topic of raw food, and most people will start raising their eyebrows and exchanging amused glances. If they've heard of the diet at all — a gastronomic trend that involves eating only organic vegetables, nuts and seeds with nothing cooked over 110 or 120 degrees — they most likely equate it with cults, dream catchers and outspoken purists, like the Los Angeles-based chef Juliano Brotman...

Raw Food Lifestyle
Mark Boldero sounds like a wacko hippie. He's a raw-food devotee with a redundant stove, a backyard full of organic vegetables - and he's just returned from swimming with the dolphins in Tauranga. I fully expect him to whip out a pair of seaweed sandals. Boldero is a former computer whiz turned chef/entrepreneur - and he's on a mission. He wants us to turn down the heat and try going raw.

Cooking School in the Raw
Like all canny cooks, Cherie Soria knows how to hook her audience: with desserts. But Soria doesn't pull out the stops with butter, sugar, eggs and flour, baking them into fluffy confections. She makes her magic with avocado and agave syrup -- and no baking at all.

Raw Food for a Fitter Life
Five years ago Shazzie was plump, ill and depressed; now her skin's firm and her smile's bright. And much of it is down to eating chocolate. The 37-year-old has been described as the "guru" of the raw food revolution, having thrown away the cooker and microwave for a diet of nuts, fruit and berries.

A little self-help with your sunflower pizza?
A plate of "I Am Adundant," which is live nachos, kale-sea veggie salad, stuffed mushroom olive tapenade, live hummus and mini Thai. In the '60s and '70s, vegetarian food was as funky as a thrift store sweater: tangy with miso, scratchy from big clumps of alfalfa sprouts, beery with nutritional yeast.

Q and A with RawGuru!

Question: "I need to loose a great amout of weight, and I have high cholesterol, I
wonder ... do you know if I could actually loose weight by eating all fruits and veggies? or is there too much sugar in like bananas, mangos and avacado? I could eat strawberries, blue berries, water mellon, peaches, oranges, bananas, kiwi, cellery, carrotts, and a few other fuits all the time and nothing else, do you have any advice? on my thoughts?"

Answer: "You will loose weight with any raw food you eat, weather it be nuts, seeds,
fruits or veggies. Eating all these in their raw form will help you loose weight asap. Eat everything (fruits, veggies, nuts, and seeds) while on the raw diet. You want to eat a balanced raw diet in order to loose weight."

Question: "What nutrities can I consume for my eyes?"

Answer: From Vison for Life: "They say mothers know best, and when it comes to eating your vegetables, well, she was right! "Eat your carrots, they're good for your eyes," my mother used to tell me. As a child, I didn't realize how true this statement was. We all know proper nutrition and diet are key elements in maintaining a healthy body. But did you know that certain nutrients can actually reduce your likelihood of becoming blind through eye diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration? Research also indicates that low levels of certain nutrients in your body can affect your everyday visual clarity, especially your night vision.

For example, whether she knew it or not, there was a reason your mother used to pile those carrots on your plate. Carrots contain a carotenoid called beta-carotene. Your body converts beta-carotene into vitamin A, which is an anti-oxidant. Anti-oxidants such as vitamin A are essential to eye health.

*Carotenoids are pigments in plants that provide red and yellow color.
*Beta-carotene is a carotenoid. It is contained in carrots and other food sources. The body converts beta-carotene into vitamin A.
*Vitamin A is an anti-oxidant that is very important to the health of the eyes.
*An antioxidant is any substance that prevents or impedes cell oxidation (destruction) by free radicals.

Question: "I am having a hard time digesting all of my salads and whole fruits while on the raw food diet. Any advice?"

Answer: "Try to blend some of your salads by simply throwing your salad into a blender with a little water or fresh juice. Blend till smooth. Also, try eating some enzymes with your food and take a good probiotic. You can also try to eat less and make your meals simple. Like 1-2 apples blended with celery sticks and a handful of almonds. This is a balanced meal containing your sugars (apples), minerals (celery) and fat (almonds). You may also try to eat ginger or mint before you start consuming your salads to start the digistive process.
