| Our next batch will arrive on May 29th! We are proud and finally ready to offer you USDA Certified Organic Young Coconuts!
The Nam-Hom coconut, most commonly known as the Young Coconut is known for its
sweet scent, delicious taste and high nutritional value. Our new shipment has
just arrived! We ship only Monday's through Wednesday's.

Our organic Young coconuts from Thailand continue to delight consumers
across the country. This is the first time an organic Young coconut has been
offered on a national basis. These coconuts are shaved down to the very nut/shell.
The coconut is a simple dry fruit known as a drupe. When the coconut is still
green, the meat inside is thin and tender, often eaten as a snack. But the main
reason to pick the nut at this stage is to drink its water; a big nut contains
up to one liter. When the nut has ripened and the outer husk has turned brown,
a few months later, it will fall from the palm of its own accord. At that time
the endosperm has thickened and hardened, while the coconut water has become
somewhat bitter.
We are offering a case of 6-7 beautiful fresh
organic young coconuts for only $38.95. If you live on the east coast you must
pay for 2nd day shipping on each case to assure you receive mold free coconuts.
These coconuts need to be refrigerated as soon as you receive them.
All West coast customers do not have to pay shipping
because these are being shipped out of Arizona. If you would like to pay for
next day shipping you may select from the below options.
We ship by Fedex Ground to all west coast customers.
You should receive them in 1-2 days. Free shipping is included in the price
for all west coast customers.
What are some of the main differences between organic Thai coconuts
and the standard non organic young coconut?
There are two main differences, one is in the growing and the other is in the
processing. First the cocos are grown without chemicals and second they are
are processed without any chemical dips.
Note: If the young coconut you are consuming is white it is dipped in chemicals!!!
Not just once but many times. The workers wear protective clothing when they
process the coconuts. They wear heavy aprons and heavy gloves. They use long
poles with wire baskets on the end to remove the coconuts from the dips so they
do not touch them.
A natural coconut husk turns brown within minutes of husking so when the conventional
processing takes place the coconut is immediately dipped in their chemical(s)
of choice as soon as the husk is removed, then the coconut is sent to the processing
plant where it is polished or trimmed and dipped again in their chemical(s)
of choice. The last dip (this makes 3 dips total) is when the coconut is ready
for packing, it is dipped again then wrapped for transport. It is a sad process
to watch and the workers themselves try to touch the cocos as little as possible,
if at all. Read
more from this interview!
How are the Organic Young Coconuts harvested?
We harvest the coconuts and husk them without any chemicals the coconuts husks
turn brown within minutes during this process. Next the coconut is polished
it is by now is a dark tan in color (natural). After polishing the coconut we
trim the top over the eyes. The cocos are immediately refrigerated at +4 Celsius
and kept cold throughout the packing process and shipped cold as well during
their journey to the states.
What to do when you get your coconuts?
- Wash them all with a little food
grade h202 (optional) and water, pat dry and refrigerate them in the
coldest section of the fridge. You may notice a little moisture mold on the
outside of some coconuts which can be from the shipment. It is harmless, just
wipe it off.
- These certified organic young coconuts will last about 5-7 days if kept in
the coldest part of your fridge.
- Use these coconuts in your smoothies, soups, dressings, salads, desserts
and much more!
How do I open a certified organic young coconut? (Watch
a video!)
1. Place coconut on cutting board face up. .
2. Puncture one of the eyes or holes with a tip of a knife or a fork.
3. Turn the coconut over a strainer under a bowl. Let the water pour out until
there is no more.
4. Strike the bottom 1/3 of the coconut for a smoother cut. It will crack naturally for you when struck just right.

Amazing facts on Coconut Water from Coconut
Water for Health and Healing by Bruce Fife
Coconut water has its own unique health benefits completely separate from coconut
oil. Coconut water is essentially fat free, so its health benefits are not associated
with medium chain fatty acids, like they are with coconut oil. Its benefits
come from a combination of vitamins, ionic minerals, amino acids, enzymes, plant
hormones, antioxidants, and other phytonutrients.
You may have heard that coconut water has been used for intravenous (IV) therapy.
This is 100 percent true. I've gathered dozens of studies from around the world
documenting this fact and describe some amazing stories where coconut water
IVs have saved lives when commercial IV solution has failed. Studies from the
Philippines, Thailand, India, Uganda, Nigeria, Indonesia, New Zealand, Britain
and the United States have confirmed the effectiveness of IV coconut water.
The simplest way to use coconut for IV therapy is to insert a needle into the
soft "eye" of the coconut. Tubing from this needle goes directly to
another needle which is inserted into the vein of the patient. The coconut water
goes straight from an unopened coconut into the bloodstream of the patient.
Coconut water is so compatible with the human body it is now being marketed
as a "natural" sports rehydration beverage. As a rehydration beverage
it is FAR superior to Gatorade and other commercial sports drinks.
The benefits don't stop there. Coconut water helps dissolve kidney stones,
protects against cancer, helps balance blood sugar, provides a source of ionic
trace minerals, improves digestion, feeds friendly gut bacteria, helps relieve
constipation, reduces risk of heart disease, improves blood circulation, lowers
high blood pressure, improves blood cholesterol levels, helps prevent arteriosclerosis,
enhances immune function, and possesses some remarkable anti-aging properties
(certain components of coconut water are now being incorporated into anti-wrinkle
face creams).
