Crystal Manna Flakes (Blue-Green Algae, Fresh Dried) is a premium blue-green algae dried just after harvest in a window refractive dryer preserving the integrity of the algae. Crystal Manna is 100% pure Fresh Driedâ„¢ Aphanizomenon flos-aquae (AFA), one of nature's most perfect foods. This unique blue-green algae grows wild in the spring-fed pristine waters of Upper Klamath Lake, Oregon. AFA is an exceptional source of health-promoting phytochemicals, such as phycocyanin, a natural COX-2 inhibitor; omega-3, one of the most important of the essential fatty acids; phenylethylamine (PEA), which enhances attention and elevates mood; and polysaccharides, which stimulate the immune system. This blue-green algae, AFA has many therapeutic and health-promoting properties. Cacao Beans also have PEA in them, this partly explains the bliss effects associated with consuming cacao. Blue Manna is a concentrated extract of the blue pigment with even higher levels of PEA.

AFA contains the broadest array of nutrients of any known algae, including vitamins (including B12), minerals, rare trace minerals rare trace elements, essential fatty acids (including omega-3, phytonutrients, active enzymes, amino acids, proteins and complex sugars. This is a great source of Vitamin B12 for vegetarians.

Fresh dried algae mean that it is dried immediately after harvesting, bypassing the normal freezing step which tends to damage the cell wall, creating a subsequent loss in nutrient retention and freshness. It is also dried using a process unique to Klamath Lake called Window Refractance Drying. It removes water gently preserving the nutritional qualities of the algae. Crystal Manna is one of the only companies that produces this high quality algae.
