Dalene was the name of a woman that lived next to my mother when she was pregnant with me (Mia). This woman embraced community, was a loving, kind, giving soul and she made a profound and positive impact on everyone around her, including my mother. So much so, that when I was born, I was given ‘Dalene’ as my middle name.
